Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple' - Smoke bush, smoke tree, Venetian sumach

Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple'  Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple'
Rounded, red-purple leaves which turn scarlet in autumn. Smoke-like plumes of tiny pink-purple flowers are produced on older wood. For best foliage effect, cut back to a framework of older wood each spring; leave unpruned for a larger plant with masses of flowers. Can be slow to establish. Leaves may turn greenish if not enough sun.
